You really need help with your grammar. Anyway, there are no publishers accepting this type of work as poetry and short story compilations are not hot ticket items and very little if any is ever published any more. I am talking real publishing not the online vanity stuff where you pay them to publish your work.

First of all, you NEVER pay a literary agent up front, so there is no worry about being able to “afford” them. Publishers and agents who ask for money up front are scams and you should run in the other direction as quickly as possible. Agents make a percentage from the sales that they make, and are so valuable in negotiating literary contracts. Since you would have to pay a literary or contract attorney up front to look over the contract for you, this actually seems to be a “cheaper” alternative out of pocket!

Secondly, that is a lot of research that you are asking people to do on your behalf. Go to your local bookstore or library and take a look at the newest edition of “Writer’s Market”. Look for small presses that accept poetry manuscripts or short story manuscripts (but make sure that they take the genre you write in, or you are wasting stamps!)

This is my collection of links to help learn about agents and the publishing world. I would highly recommend that you seek out a reputable agent who specializes in children’s books once you have completed and editted your works. They can aid you much better than anyone here can. Here are some links which may help:

                    Good luck!

you might want to think about beginning by publishing in literary journals. Send a short story to a journal and see if tey publish it. Send four or five poems at a time. Writer’s Market is a good place to find the names of such journals. There is also a separate book called poet’s market. Good luck.

Hon, if you’d done any research on your own, you’d know that you don’t HIRE a literary agent. You query them and they decide whether they will take you as a client. And you don’t pay them. They take commission on your royalties.

That said, poetry and short stories are the least demanded form of writing and the market is over-saturated and highly competitive.
