Publish Poetry

I write lots of poetry, and I’m 15. My mother has been telling me for years that I should publish a book with a bunch of my poetry in it. I don’t know though, I write the sort of poetry that my generation writes, it’s not really any genre and it’s sort of just out there. I know they’re good, but I don’t know. And if I should go for it, how would I do so? A poem of mine entitled “Transitions”.

I have been writing poetry from more than ten years now, and I am more than ready to publish a book. One company that wants me to do so, only wants to type up the book, and for me to sell it myself. I want the book to be sold widely and in different languages so that people of all walks and languages can read them. I don’t want to be scammed either, so has anybody here published a book or knew a friend / family member that has done so that can help your girl out? I’d really appreciate it.

How do people unfamous get books published?

Thats if i want to publish a book that all major books stores would carry.

I’ve been writing poetry for 4 years now and I would really like to publish a book of my own. A lot of people that have read my work love it and they always have some sort of feedback to the things that I write about. So, can anyone tell me how can I go about publishing a book of my own?

Has anyone ever self-publshed a book? If so how successful were you at doing so? Have you made a profit of it?

I’ve written a great deal of poetry, and I’ve also written a short story, and I’d like to get them published. I have had one of my poems published in an online magazine (Esopian- www.esopian.com), but I’d like to try submitting what I have to magazines or possibly publishing a collection of poetry.

Does anyone know of any places that might consider or accept my works to be published? The short story is a fantasy piece, and most of the poetry is free-form, occasionally narrative.
I’d also like to know if the fees that some publishing companies require to publish a book are normal, or are they scams? Is it typical for publishers to ask for money before you submit your manuscript?

I would love to have a book of my favorite poems published, and I have plenty to choose from and can always write more. However, I don’t know the first thing about publishing my own book! Any advice would help…do I get an agent, solicit publishers, beg? I appreciate all the help!

Even if you have deleted all trace of them from the internet?

A friend of mine wanted his poetry published and was told he couldn’t do so because of this.
What about self-publishing? And what if the publisher is fine with it? The question was whether or not it was illegal.
