You can go to poetry.com.

You’re a neeeeeeeek fum.
if you want to publish a book you need to submit a work to an editor, they will read it and then take the decision of whether or not it’s worth publishing. go on some editor sites and get the address or email where you need to send your writings and good luck.
If you mean publishing a book you will either self-publish or find a traditional publisher, usually through a literary agent. Otherwise you might just want to publish on the web free.
1) You can publish on the web and promote it as ebook or print on demand. This is the easiest method, but it will cost you in the long run. You have to market the thing. I-Proclaim.com is one of the online publishers that will do it for free. You just upload your document and Abracadabra! Now all you need to do is have people buy it as ebook on line or you order hard copies for a minimum cost and resell them. As I said self-publishing cost you in the long run. I don’t like to be writing and caught up with marketing at the same time. You do get a higher percent on sales, but you might lose on volume.
2) If you want to be published by a traditional publisher who will bear the cost and even do the marketing while you get paid in royalties - a fairly small percent in comparison - you can. This could be the best route in the end. A good publisher can get your material worldwide. They take the risk and collect the lion’s share, but you might end up making enough anyway.
For poetry though, many large traditional publishers will not even consider it. It is not as viable as one might think. You can publish through small publishers.
Most publishers rather to talk to agents rather than amateurs. If you need an agent, just go to the web and type in ‘Literary agents’. Read through and pick one that suits you. I am sure that if your work is satisfactory there are many who are willing to represent you. I honestly recommend starting out with an agent. You learn as you go along…In the future you can always go on your own.
Peace.
